Because Arrietty is not only a story of friendship, it is also a fable ecological focus on man's relationship to nature and the need for redistribution of wealth between those who have and those who lack the necessary. I probably lack the japanese culture on the minds discussed by other commentators.. Nothing to say about the quality of the film and of the product, it is ok. By contrast, the Blu-ray is classified as a nine and yet, at the reception, no blister. A simple scotch tape to seal the BR.
